"I've found a reptile, what should I do?

Found an injured or bleeding snake/lizard?

Scenario A

Place the reptile in a small box with holes so they can breathe. BE AWARE we have adders in this country that are venomous snakes so try to trap them with the box so you don't have to handle them.

A large shoe box is ideal.

Wear gloves and place a small heat source (luke warm water bottle) if possible.

Take to the local vets or call a wildlife rescue.

Found a baby reptile

Scenario B

If the baby is not in immediate danger leave it where you have found it. They are independent the moment they hatch from the egg. If they are in immediate danger move them to a safe place with cover.

If injured then refer to scenario A.
